- Backup where: Default(to the site) or Other(external source eg. your PC)
- Email Status to: Enter email address for status report to be sent
Click backup and wait a while and the .tar.gz file will be formed you will see the file at the bottom of the sceen with its current progress and a link for downloading it when it has finished. This can take a while if your site, databases or mailboxes are large. A .tar.gz file is compatible with winzip or similar programs.
To delete any old backups you may have on the server just tick the box and select delete from the dropdown menu. You will then need to confirm your actions.
When you have backed up your site there may be an occasion where you will need to restore your site from a previous version or replace your site after a security exploit has caused some issues.
To restore click the 'Backup / Restore' from your main menu and select 'Restore'
You will be asked where you would like to restore the site from
- Local: The backup file is stored on the computer you are using
- Remote: The backup file is on the server or at another web address
If you are selecting remote then you will need to enter the url of the file, or if you are keeping it on the server then you will be able to use the path to the file. The email sent to you from the backup screen will state the path to the file on the server for future reference.
Once you have clicked restore you will be asked to confirm your actions, after that siteworx will report back.
